Dike

gRPC mirror

A gRPC mirror of Search and Reason for agent tool-use loops that prefer gRPC over HTTP/JSON.

Search and Reason (including streaming) are also available over gRPC, on a separate port from the REST API — useful for agent frameworks whose tool-use loop already speaks gRPC and would otherwise pay JSON marshalling overhead twice.

  • Contract: proto/dike/v1/dike.proto in the dike-api repo.
  • Auth: authorization: Bearer <api_key> gRPC metadata — the same keys as REST, not a separate credential.
  • Rate limits: the same RATE_LIMIT_DEFAULT / RATE_LIMIT_REASON values as REST, enforced per-method.
  • Server reflection is registered and left unauthenticated, matching GET /v1/openapi.yaml — so grpcurl and similar tools can discover the service without a local copy of the .proto file.

Cite and Graph Traverse are REST-only for now — there's no gRPC equivalent yet.
