# Privacy Policy: Dike

_Last updated: August 13, 2026_

This page explains what Dike collects when you use dike.it.com, the "Ask Dike" chat widget, or the developer API waitlist, and where that information goes. Dike (dike.it.com) is operated as described in our [brand and product pages](https://dike.it.com/brand/).

## What we collect

- **Chat messages.** Anything you type into the Ask Dike widget is sent to our AI provider (Dify) to generate a response. We don't attach your name or account to these messages beyond a generic visitor identifier.
- **Email addresses.** If you join the API waitlist on the [developers page](https://dike.it.com/developers/) or use "Schedule a Conversation" in the chat widget, the email you provide is sent to our form-handling provider (Formspree) so we can follow up with you.
- **Standard web logs.** Our hosting provider and network layer (e.g. Cloudflare, our host) may log IP addresses and request metadata for security and reliability, as is standard for any website.

We don't run analytics or advertising trackers on this site.

## How it's used

Chat messages are used only to generate a response in the moment and to keep your conversation available if you come back to the widget (stored locally in your browser, not on our servers, unless the underlying AI provider retains conversation history under its own policy). Email addresses are used solely to follow up about API access or a scheduled conversation, not for unrelated marketing.

## Data retention

Chat history lives in your browser's local storage, not on a Dike server, so it stays on your device until you clear it, and never syncs across devices. Waitlist and scheduling emails are kept only as long as needed to follow up with you, and removed on request (see "Your choices" below).

## Third parties

We rely on a small number of third-party services to run this site: an AI provider (Dify) for the chat widget, and a form-handling provider (Formspree) for waitlist and scheduling emails. Each has its own privacy practices governing data they process on our behalf.

## As Dike grows

Today, Dike is a marketing site with a chat widget and an API waitlist; the legal-data API itself isn't yet in general availability. As that changes, for example when API keys are issued, usage-based billing is introduced, or new product surfaces are added, this policy will be updated to cover exactly what those features collect and how, before they launch. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date; we won't start collecting meaningfully new categories of data without updating this page first.

## Your choices

You can clear your local chat history at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser. To request removal of an email you submitted, contact us at hello@dike.it.com.

## Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage checking back periodically, particularly around the launch of new features described in "As Dike grows" above.
